Dr. Michael M. Townsend, Sr. – President (2010-2011) – Dr. Townsend received an Associate of Arts degree from Prairie State Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Chicago State University, and a master’s degree from Governor’s State University, and an Ed.D. from Northern Illinois University in Educational Leadership. Dr. Townsend’s service ended on June 20, 2011.

  • Dr. Townsend established the first STEM Academy for first-year college students.

  • Dr. Townsend reestablished the Foundation Board, which led to the college receiving over $4.2 million in federal funds.

  • In addition, the college also received a $100,000 gift from the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions for welding curriculum.

  • With Dr. Townsend at the helm, the college launched two campaigns to honor those individuals who contributed to the college’s development, renaming Building 26 to the Samuel Love Faust Multicultural Center and Building 29 to the Willie R. Cantey Assessment and Academic Support Center.
