Dr. Leonard A. McIntyre – President (2014-2017) – Dr. Leonard McIntyre is a native of New Orleans. He received his undergraduate degree in Spanish education from Loyola University and his master’s degree from Tulane University in Spanish literature. McIntyre earned his Ed.D. in educational administration from Iowa State University.  He has completed post-doctoral training at both Harvard and Columbia Universities.  He assumed the helm on March 17, 2014.

  • Dr. McIntyre’s pursuit of college development focused on creating several partnerships with surrounding colleges in South Carolina.

  • McIntyre’s most accomplished partnership came in the articulation agreement with Voorhees College and the gateway agreement with South Carolina State University.

  • Dr. McIntyre’s desire to continue assisting the local communities in Denmark led to the college receiving a $460,000 RUS-DLT grant to address critical socioeconomic challenges such as distance learning, making more financial support available to students.

  • Dr. McIntyre received a $25 million grant that launched a new cybersecurity workforce program.
